Hi everyone! Welcome to Yanping Elementary School in Zhushan, Nantou! This is a magical school "hiding in a giant’s palm".
From the sky, our school buildings look like a huge left hand opening its arms to welcome you! Right at the thumb, there are two super long colorful slides where you can zoom down straight to the grass for an adventure.
In our school, we have big trees wearing "pink bubble skirts" made of beautiful orchids. It is as pretty as a fairy tale!
Learning here is super fun! You can use tablets to play 5G smart games and even video call friends in New Zealand to learn about their Maori culture.
After your adventure, you can visit the nearby Zinan Temple to see the Earth God and pray for peace and safety!

竹山沙東宮 Sadong Temple
竹山延平古稱東埔蚋，是林圮開墾地，建有沙東宮，主祀鄭成功。此為延平當地信仰中心，後擴建並命名沙東宮。每年春秋兩季皆有延平郡王祭典，依古禮舉行隆重儀式。
This place was called Dongpula. Long ago, this Sadong temple was built here to keep people safe. People pray to Koxinya here. Every year, there are two big ceremonies in spring and fall.

日治時期，竹山是種植菸草的重要地方，這個菸草站也在那時候建立，主要在菸葉收成的時候用來集中收購和儲存菸葉，當時非常熱鬧。現在，此地一部分已經變成展覽場地和餐廳。未來，這裡還可以有更多新的用途，希望能帶動竹山這個地方的商業發展，重新展現它的價值。
Long ago, Zhushan grew much tobacco. This station helped to collect tobacco. Now, part of it is a show place and a restaurant. Maybe it can be more useful in the future. It can help Zhushan become better.
