Whenever thunder and rain fill the sky, heaven and earth are joined.
At this moment of convergence, souls descend from the heavens into the world.
This bridge connecting heaven and earth
has two heads—
one facing the light, the other the dark.
For millions of years,
souls have crossed this bridge to be born into the wetland,
the womb of the river.
There, they slowly take form in mud,
generation after generation,
spreading with the flow of water,
taking root wherever they arrive.
It is said that a single afternoon thunderstorm
can release 71 trillion raindrops.
Each soul that descends into this world
sets in motion ripples that last a hundred years.
And this bridge, filled with countless souls,
is called White Rainbow.

Migratory birds are not merely traversing the sky but also reading the planet.
Wetlands are not merely places to rest, but also where all forms of life intersect.
Inspired by the migratory birds' paths at Guandu Nature Park, environmental artist Kuei-Chih Lee guided 52 Wistron volunteers in crafting this grand sculpture. Up close, it reveals itself as a pair of wings unfurling in flight; from afar, it resolves into the graceful arc of a crescent moon. It symbolizes the journey of migratory birds crossing mountains and seas to unite disparate habitats, while embodying a quiet vision of harmony—a profound connection uniting humanity with nature, and human hearts with one another.

If we can see the modern world as a myth, nature and human-made objects are no longer separate, but become part of one continuous, flowing whole.

The wetland is imagined as a vast, non-human “face.” In mythology, masks symbolize the human desire to gain the power of nature by wearing it. This work reverses that relationship, transforming the act of “wearing” into an act of “sensing.”
Viewers enter a natural structure woven from branches. Moving between enclosure, concealment, and observation, they are invited to let go of a human-centered way of seeing and instead experience the wetland through the body, becoming immersed in its sensory presence.

Sprout Ridge is formed by stitching together natural materials from the wetland and discarded urban furniture, evoking both new shoots and the wounded growth of evolving species. The work reflects the “aftereffects of reconciliation”: it is at once healing and intervention, repair and trace.
It reveals humanity’s need for and dependence on nature, while creating a space where the city, the wetland, humans, and spiritual beings can relearn one another’s languages. Throughout the exhibition period, the work continues to be shaped and rewritten by the wetland itself.

Second-hand fabric, second-hand toys, wire
Statement
At Guandu Temple, mythical and auspicious creatures inhabit the space between architecture and belief, forming part of the natural vocabulary of temple culture. Using second-hand toys and fabric, the work reinterprets the temple’s natural motifs and creates a temporary habitat in the pavilion where these guardian creatures can briefly set aside their protective roles and rest, play, and roam.
As nature and human-made objects become intertwined, can “nature” still be clearly separated from the built environment? Objects that have been manufactured, consumed, and discarded have already become part of the environments we inhabit.
